I’m a fellow bar examinee who is sitting at work waiting for any word possible regarding our letters. I find myself checking this blog and jd-underground about every hour and a half for any word about results. As soon as someone posts that the results are up I’m leaving work immediately and making the most nerve-racking commute ever back home to check my mailbox. I know that my actions are irrational and that I should just relax and wait, but at this point I’m just incredibly curious to see how things turned out. The best of luck to you and all MA takers!!!

I’m a Mass. bar taker as well and totally losing my mind
I’m so anxious at this point I just want to burst!
I can think of nothing but my bar results. And even though they’ll be out soon, the wait is still killing me. I wish the Mass BBE would at least publish the actual mail-out date, so that each day around the 1st I wasn’t anxiously wondering whether today would be the day. I can’t get a damn thing done at work.
I feel the same way all of you do…totally anxious!! I work from home and every time I hear any little nose that could be the mail woman, I totally freak out! Of course, I know that the mail does not come until around 3:30-4:00 pm, but I worry all day anyway!
Does anyone have any predictions for when the results will come out? Thursday?? Friday??
All I know is that last year the results were sent on May 1. If they follow suit this year, then that would be Thursday and people could start getting them as early as Friday. But, hopefully I’m wrong and they sent them like yesterday!
That’s true..so maybe Friday for people who live in or just outside the city. I’m going away for the weekend though so I hope I get results before then!!
I hope you are getting more adjusted to your new apartment! It takes awhile..I know that when I moved into my current apartment, I was convinced it was haunted. The oven made scary, weird noises and the doorbell would ring randomly and then nobody would be there. It turned out that the oven is just super old and the doorbell was on the same frequency as my neighbor’s doorbell so it would ring when their bell would. At the time, though, I had come up with all sorts of irrational explanations!
I agree that results will likely be mailed out on the May 1.
Thanks to the wayback machine, it appears that Feb. results for 2006 & 2007 were mailed on May 1. In 2005, they were mailed on May 3. In 2004, results were mailed on 4/30.
If you live in or around Boston proper, you’ll likely get the results the day after they’re mailed.
Was it a leap year in 2004??
I just checked and it was a leap year in 2004 and it is this year too! Maybe that will mean that they will mail them out tomorrow (4/30) like they did in 2004? I know all this speculation is pathetic..but can you blame a girl?
The waiting game is nuts!!! Good luck to everyone. I think we’ll find out by the end of the week. Still, I wish they gave us some advance warning like most other states!
I love the way we are trying to decode the mystery of when results will be sent. This research is quite impressive. Haha… we would make our current or future employers proud!

how funny that so many others are googling away, too. i just started obsessing yesterday… hopefully our minds will be put to rest soon. anyone know when they put the results up on the webpage??

When the summer results came out, they were sent first and then posted a few days later. You can see from my earlier posts exactly how many days it took.
I just moved to Boston – but is there anything planned after the results come out? I know people in the state where I attended law shcool would always go to this one bar after the results were out to celebrate or commiserate.

For this past July bar, results were RECEIVED by Nov 1, when the powers that be said they would be RELEASED.
Also, in November, people called the test givers and asked.
So, whose mail come earlier in the afternoon?
Well, officially, the website said that the results were released on Nov 1. In addition, the powers that be had claimed they would be released on or before Nov. 15.

someone on the jdunderground board said that they had confirmed that the letters are in the mail…i don’t know what that means or where the info came from, but i’m definitely leaving work early to check my mail…
This is how it started last time! Someone got word from someone from another someone that results were out….
Now, the big question, are they in the mail as of TODAY, or prior to today?
i don’t know either… i posted on the jdunderground board thread “MassBarResults” and someone just said that they live 10 mins from boston and had no mail today…but isn’t it too early for the mail to have come?
Unless they’ve got one abmitious mail carrier, than I would think so.
Once you get word that they are “in the mail,” you can expect them the next day unless you live out of state. Results pretty much always show up on a Friday, so sit tight for one more day. Good luck!
the latest word is that they were mailed today…probably arriving tomorrow…someone called the post office to track down their mail…there wasn’t anything from the BBE

My guess is that if they were mailed today, depending on your proximity to Boston (mine is very close…10 minutes away), tomorrow….possibly saturday.

By the way, for those of you who failed or any first-timers, what kind of work are you doing now? I actually took another state bar before I came back to MA and have been having a tough time finding decent employment. What are you all up to?
I guess the only good thing about not getting the results until tomorrow is that I don’t have to face my employer right away…I have all weekend to get over it, no matter what happens. I live in the middle of DT Boston, so I will post as soon as I get something. I now go home every other hour to check for them. Yes, obsessive. Especially since my mail arrives around 4pm and we now know they were mailed today!
RJ, please keep us posted…i’m in the same boat as you. I live right across the river in Cambridge and I’m still holding on to a glimmer of hope that the letter will somehow make it the 2 miles to my house today
I live in Allston, and so I think I will get the letter tomrw if it was sent out today. It all depends “when” they were mailed out. Were they mailed out in the morning or afternoon? Because if it is in the morning, then there might be a chance that someone who lives in downtown Boston would get the letter today. But, if they were mailed in the afternoon, then that possibility of getting them today is unlikley.
I heard rumors that if its a big letter then that’s not a good sign, since passers receive a small letter. is that true?
This is making me CRAZY! I’m at work but getting nothing done, of course. Too bad we can’t just pick up the results when they’re ready.
Please, please, please, anyone, please post if you get your results today. I know chances are remote, but there might be a chance yet.
Rich – rumors are untrue. I got a “failed” letter and it was in a standard sized envelope. I am pretty sure everyone gets something like that as it would have the letter saying whether you passed and then another sheet (if you failed) with your score (no score if you passed) and a final sheet with further instructions.
WCJD – no idea on the credit check.
results did not make it in the mail to the S. Shore/just south of Boston today – mail came – results not in there today

rich, that’s a good idea…i only have 20 vacation days/year, and i’ve a chunck of that booked already, but it might be worth it since i wouldn’t get anything done at work anyways…
I called the Mass BBE at 11:46am and was told that the results had already been mailed. How early in the am they were mailed, I’ve no idea.
Looks like they’ll be coming tomorrow. I’ll be taking the day off too. There’s no point in going in – I won’t get a damn thing done (like today).
ee gads, took the day off tomorrow. I cant stand the drama it creates in me. I called the board of bar examiners today, they are in the mail they say. Caught my mailman, told him to change his route tomorrow and deliver my mail first. Good thing I gave him a good tip for Christmas.
My crazy sister in law called the Supreme Court today (without my knowledge), yes that Supreme Court, asking about Bar Exam results and when they would come in Massachusetts. They gave her the number for the SJC in Mass. She called there and they told her that she should check the Superior Court in her county because they would have the results already.
Of course I felt foolish but I couldnt help myself. I trekked to the local Superior court and ask to speak to the Clerk of Courts who was very nice…..but still I left with chest pain.
So, am I the only one at work this morning? I figure with all the anti-anxiety meds, I might as well get paid to sit around and stare at the walls.

I am at work : ( UGH! But I just opened the office – no one is here! I know half the office is usually out on Friday, but maybe they all took a day off without telling the new girl? Well, I didn’t get my results so I’ll be going home every hour in the afternoon to check. At this point, people at my job know I am waiting and my doormen know and everyone else I come in contact with, so I hope it’s good news.
The people I work with are very understanding as well, so they hav eno problem with me running home this afternoon. Although, they are kind of avoiding me, which is probably for the best.
I just figured I’d come to work, better than laying on the couch and worrying!
I had some stuff i had to finish at work today so i couldn’t take the day off, but i’m leaving at lunch….

Results are here! I just got one in the mail and it is a good one!!!!!
I am out of state, so I have to wait an extra day or two. The thought of waiting until Monday, knowing that everyone in Boston is getting their results today is driving me up the wall.

So new2mass- will you have your girlfriend open your letter and call you with the results?? I opened my husband’s letter when his came and called him…it made his drive home from work a lot easier than it would have been!

We discussed the opening procedures…and she wanted to open it for me, but I decided that I had to see it w/my own eyes…but i am dreading the drive home after she calls me
My secret to being calm is I have already gotten word of my results. The letter has yet to come and confirm it, so I’m waiting for that confirmation before I type it out. Don’t ask how or why… I cannot divulge the details.

does anyone else live in somerville? My boyfriend (who’s at home today) called and said the mail hasn’t come yet. What time does it come? I am so not productive right now. I’m shaking as I type.

so my 3-yr-old & I have been waiting & watching out the window for the mailman for the last 20 mins. or so – the mail is usually here by now – figures today would be on the later side – I just said “I can’t take it anymore” & she said “me either, where *is* that mailman!?!” this is torturous . . .
I PASSED!! I just got the good news!! I’ve been crying for about 10 minutes straight now (tears of joy, of course!). This was my 2nd attempt and I was praying not to have to do it again since I have a severe physical disability and was in the worst pain of my life taking the stupid thing. Try taking the Bar exam while lying on the floor (actually..don’t…it’s no fun). hehe.
Anyway, I am hoping and praying for the rest of you that you get good news too. My fingers and toes are crossed. new2mass..any word yet? I’m sending a special thought your way.

I live in Cambridge and still haven’t gotten any mail. I stopped another mailman and he said the mail had already been delivered to my route for the day and that it takes 2 days for mail to reach cambridge from boston because it is processed south of boston….all i know is that i skipped out of work early and now i’m having a panic attack….congrats to all who have already passed…and thanks for the good vibes FnB….one more day….ughh….

I failed. By two points. I did better than average on the essays, but did worse on the MBE than last time. I’m licensed in a state that’s considered to have a much harder exam, and perhaps didn’t study as much as I should have. In any case, I thought this MBE was much harder, and am notoriously bad at multiple choice exams.

I thought the MBE was pretty hard too. Well, if you already passed in another state (and one that is harder), you know that you CAN do it. Thinking of you!!
Finally. My bldg took 3.5 hours to ’sort’ the mail. I checked every 15 minutes. But I passed. Whew. Congrats to everyone who passed. If you didn’t and need help/study materials, let me know. Whew.

HAHA… Hi Jon. I’m glad that you’re addicted and stay that way. I’ll be a good dealer, promise. I guess I should write a new entry huh? But, to answer quickly, Unofficial and I have celebrated in our own way already and when the letter comes in (I’m thinking Monday since it didn’t happen today), we will celebrate again.

Did anyone else who passed have a really hard time sleeping that night? I thought I would have the best sleep ever but I ended up waking up every so often worried and then realizing I didn’t have to worry anymore. It kept happening all night!
The moment I got the letter and I read the word “Congratulations” I got into bed and had a two hour nap.
I was never nervous during the wait, until I started telling people in work the results were coming in. Then I started thinking about what it would be like if I had to tell all of them I didn’t pass.
Jon..congrats!! I hope that was the best frickin’ nap you’ve ever had!
